Betty Magazine Summer 2016
It’s hard to believe it's been five years since we put Betty into print. Over those years, we've had the best adventure: honing our skills and learning new ones, working with a whole host of talented creatives, meeting you our lovely readers and making life-long friends along the way. When thinking how we might celebrate our birthday, we thought it only fitting that we say it with flowers.
We adore flowers – you only have to look at our Instagram account to see how much! From the snowdrops that spell the end of winter right through to the fading dahlias in September, flowers bring us joy, colour our homes and gardens, evoke memories and have inspired this entire bloom-themed issue – from the fashion and food to our DIYs and the incredible people we’ve featured.
Inside this issue, we looked at the Flower House project, where flowers and art intersect; we’ve spoken to exciting new music talent Let’s Eat Grandma and interviewed the amazing Bri Emery of designlovefest about the crazy world of blogging. For our fashion cover story we travelled to the beautiful Herefordshire countryside where the sun came out for what may have been one of our most special shoots yet. We also persuaded five of our favourite bakers to create us a floral-themed cake in honour of turning five. Happy Birthday to Betty, let the party begin!
